Kotlin/Everywhere Conakry at the University of Simbaya in Guinea, West Africa

This past weekend, GDG Ratoma hosted Kotlin/Everywhere Conakry for over 100 participants at the University of Simbaya in Guinea, West Africa.

Kotlin/Everywhere is a worldwide series of conferences and meetups designed to teach developers how to use Kotlin for mobile, cloud, and multi-platform projects.

Kotlin/Everywhere Conakry was a hands-on workshop event. Participants brought their own laptops so they could follow along during the codelabs.

Kouame Kan Romeo Kouame, manager of GDG Ratoma, gave a keynote about the importance of technology education to kick off the event.

Then a workshop for getting started with Kotlin development was led by Hamidou Bah, a software engineer at Banki Technology in Conakry.

Since its founding in 2018, GDG Ratoma has 950+ members and has organized over a dozen events including DevFest Conakry 2018 which was sponsored by Button, Snapchat, Google Developers, and others.

And you can bet there will be lots of Kotlin content at this year’s DevFest Conakry 2019. In fact, if you would like to be a speaker at the event — the Call for Papers is open now!

This is the second post in a new series titled The Road to DevFest Conakry 2019. Check back here often as more details about the event become available!
