DevFest Conakry 2019 CFP
DevFest Conakry 2019 Call For Papers is now open!
In 2018, GDG Ratoma held the first ever DevFest Conakry in Guinea, West Africa with 10+ speakers and 300+ attendees. You can read more about last year’s event in this blog post. This year is going to be even bigger and we want you to be a part of it!
DevFest Conakry 2019: Call for Speakers
The Call for Papers opens today, July 1st, and closes at 11:59 PM GMT on September 30th.
Event Details
DevFest Conakry 2019 will be held on December 7th at the Université Kofi Annan de Guinée in Conakry. Building on the momentum from 2018, this year we hope to reach 1,500 participants. The event is free to attend for members of the community.
Selection Committee
The speaker selection committee (to be announced soon) will include developers and community members from the U.S. and Guinea. The committee is accepting proposals for full-length talks (30 min) or shorter lightning talks (15 min).
Update: We have now also added Codelab (60 min) as an additional format option. Codelabs are hands-on workshops and will run parallel to the main content track.
Topics
Some ideas for topics include:
- Android
- Kotlin
- Flutter
- Web
- Cloud
- Machine Learning
- Architecture
- Testing
- Best Practices
- Career Growth
- Entrepreneurship
Whatever topic you propose, please keep two things in mind:
- Many of the attendees last year were students and beginner developers. Intro level talks are great for this audience! Since the conference is single track, any talk should plan to spend 5–10 minutes covering the basics for folks new to the topic.
- Talks can be in French (preferred) or English with a provided interpreter. Speakers who wish to use English should submit their slides in advance for translation.
That’s it! If you have any questions feel free to post them in the comment section below or email us at devfest.conakry.2019 at gmail.com.
